WHAT IS FADA ?

FADA is a women, feminist-led, membership organisation formed in 2015 with an aim to contribute towards the promotion and protection of women’s rights especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

HOW WE WORK

  • To contribute towards improving the socio-economic living conditions of vulnerable women
  • To increase access to quality health care among vulnerable women

 

Projects

Every year FADA deals with the action plan that include the project that it will work on .search as empowering women, community works, training and many more

Geographical Coverage

FADA is a national level based organization with activities concentrated in all the three Districts of Kigali City namely; Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge

OUR TEAM

Hassna Murenzi
EXECUTIVE Director

Hassna Uwingabe Murenzi is a queer feminist and human rights activists. She has been a part of the Rwandan sex workers’ and LGBTIQ movement for the last 13 years. In 2007 they became Vice President in the LGBTIQ organization HOCA (Horizon Community Association), which was part of the successful campaign against the criminalization of LGBTIQ people in the Rwandan penal code. The strengthening of the sex workers’ community and improved coordination between “key population” groups is among the successes during this time. 

As the Executive Director of FADA (Feminist Action Development Ambition), she has been able to create a clear vision for the organization and strengthen the engagement with the sex worker and LBTQ communities. FADA also engages in policy and law advocacy to improve health and livelihoods for sex workers and LBTQ people and combat gender based violence and discrimination. Hassna is Vice Chair on the board of ASWA (African Sex Workers Alliance) and member of the International Steering Committee for the Red Umbrella Fund

Jimmy Kamugisha
Director Admnistration and Finance

He holds a Bachelor’s in Procurement and Logistics Management from the School of Management and Entrepreneurship, at KYAMBOGO UNIVERSITY/UGANDA and is currently pursuing ACCA qualification.

Diane Uwase
Project Coordinator and Program Officer

Holder of a Law Degree from the Kigali Independent University, a DLP (Diploma in Legal Practice) from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development of Rwanda. She aim to work in an environment which will enable her to contribute with her experience, learn new skills and eventually become one of the best female in Rwanda and the Region. She is fluent in Kinyarwanda, French and English.

Divine Ineza
EXECUTIVE Assistant

Bachelor of Arts in Management with Logistics operations concentration from Southern New Hampshire through Kepler program, she has a high level of responsibilities and fast-learning traits, Divine has also proven qualifications in communication skills. Her dynamism and courage make her a multi-task under pressure and the right person to her functions.
