ABOUT FADA

FADA is a women, feminist-led, membership organisation formed in 2015 with an aim to contribute towards the promotion and protection of women’s rights especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups. Despite the remarkable progress made in Rwanda in terms of gender equality, access to essential services such as health and education, improvement in the social-economic living standards, and a conducive legal and policy environment, the country still grapples with transitioning into an inclusive, harmonious,  prosperous society, where none is left behind in contributing towards national development. Discrimination, violence, stigma, inadequate access to essential services such as health and livelihood opportunities are still prevalent against vulnerable and historically marginalised women such as Sex workers and  LBTIs persons.

FADA’s birth seeks to complement existing efforts by the Government of Rwanda and Civil Society Organizations in upholding fundamental rights of women especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged categories of women in order for them to maximize their contribution towards an inclusive development.
